How To Make Amazing Cold Brew

Cold brew coffee has gained popularity among coffee drinkers in recent years.

Instead of using hot water to draw out the flavor and caffeine of coffee beans, cold brew coffee relies on time by steeping them in cold water for 12–24 hours.

This method makes the drink less bitter than hot coffee.

Making it at home is super easy and a much lower cost than drinking it through the drive through.

Here is our recipe to make the perfect batch.

Equipment Needed:

1 Cup of Coursely Ground Neptune Cold Brew Blend
32oz of Filtered Water
Coffee should be coarsely ground so it doesn’t over-extract during the 12-24 hours (15 hours seems to be a common guide) it is in contact with the water. When buying Neptune ground, we will grind it for the perfect cold brew texture.
  1. Put the coffee in the filter basket.
  2. Place the filter basket into the jar
  3. Pour the water slowly over the filter basket
  4. * Optional but recommended; stir the grounds gently in the basket to ensure they’re all soaked through evenly.
  5. Screw lid on.
  6. Set on countertop, undisturbed, for determined period of time (We recommend 15 hours).
  7. Remove filter basket and replace lid.

Made Coffee will be a nice 2/1 concentrate (or to taste).

So for a 12 oz cold brew combine 8 oz of Made Coffee with 4 oz of filtered water and/or sweetener/cream if desired.

The Bottom Line
Cold brew coffee is an enjoyable alternative to hot coffee that you can easily make at home. It offers many of the same health benefits but is less acidic and less bitter, which may make it more easily tolerated by sensitive individuals.
If you want to mix up your coffee routine, give cold brew coffee a try and see how it compares to your usual hot cup of joe.
